How to control the Korean smart strip over Wi-Fi?
The MTTL-W01 speaks 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Here's the difference between joining it to your network — and controlling it from any other network.
Joining: 2.4 GHz home Wi-Fi
The strip only does 2.4 GHz (not 5 GHz) — hardware fact. Hold 10 seconds to fast blinking (TONLY_TAP_xxxx), give it home Wi-Fi from the setup app. From then it's a device on your network like any phone.
Controlling: from any Wi-Fi (or none)
The strip opens an encrypted outbound connection to Moshtarak cloud, so it's not tied to home after joining. Control it from office Wi-Fi, café Wi-Fi, or mobile data — no port forwarding, no PC running at home.
In practice
- Home on the same Wi-Fi: dashboard just works.
- Away: same dashboard, same speed — remote control.
- Internet down at home? The strip retries on its own when it returns.
The one network tip
Keep the strip on a dedicated 2.4 GHz SSID if your router merges bands — the most common join failure, one minute in router settings.
